Overview

Loki is a hack ‘n’ slash (action/RPG) developed by the French Game studio Cyanide and is the studio’s most ambitious project to date. However, it is not their first incursion into a fantasy world as their subtle blend of humour and haemoglobin in Chaos League met with popular success.
A fantasy voyage through the great mythologies, Loki allows the player to take on the role of one of the 4 heroes of the game, each drawn from a different mythology: a mighty Norse fighter, a fierce Greek warrior, a powerful Egyptian magician or an Aztec shaman who masters the secrets of the spirit world.
Whatever hero the player adopts, he must come to the aid of the gods he worships. He will come to realise that behind the chaos that is threatening his world lies Seth, the Egyptian god of darkness and evil, who has returned from the kingdom of the dead.
The hero must therefore undertake an epic journey across the various epochs and myths. He will fight a multitude of monsters of all shapes and sizes, and even overthrow a few gods, on his way to preventing Seth establish his wicked reign.

Story Line

THE SOURCE OF EVIL

Seth, the god of chaos and evil, has broken free from his sealed tomb where he had been cast eons before after being defeated by the Egyptian gods, led by Osiris.
Now he is determined to take his revenge and to vent his anger on the world.
His destructive plans have been helped by the fact that he has discovered a way of passing from one mythology to another.
Each world has been isolated since the beginning of time, but now Seth, at the head of an army of his disciples, aims to conquer all.
The adventure begins in the world of the chosen hero(ine). Each time a local deity allied to Seth will attempt to prevent the hero(ine) from advancing and each time this local ally must be eliminated
The hero(ine) is then free to choose his/her route through the remaining worlds, hot on the heels of Seth.
Once all of Seth's allies are defeated the player must come face to face with the evildoer for the final combat that will bring an end to his scourge, once and for all.

Main Features

- An epic saga that takes the player through 4 great mythologies : Norse, Greek, Aztec and Egyptian. The player will take part in major historical/mythological events (siege of Troy, the fall of the Aztec empire, Ragnarok, ....) and will meet legendary figures (Achilles, Thor, .....)
- Play the game as one of 4 different hero(ine)s with radically different strengths and fighting styles. Worship different gods in order to take advantage of the more than 200 different skills.
- Fight against hundreds of enemies and monsters.
- Take-on great mythological beasts (Fenrir the wolf, Fafnir, the dragon, the Minotaur, Medusa, ...)
- Never play the same game twice due to the random generation of levels.
- Customise weapons and armour by visiting the blacksmith's forge. Disassemble and rebuild different weapons with new attributes and increase their magical powers with runes.
- Play the adventure with your friends as part of a group or take-on others in PvP mode inside a dedicated on-line arena or dice with death by taking-up one of the on-line challenges.
